We are happy to have received the visit of the ASCGM to Riviera Maya Golf Club, headed by the chairman of the association Eleuterio Lara Lara, superintendent of Club Golf Mexico, who was accompanied by 30 of its members, all of them superintendents of top-level golf courses.

ASCGM is an association that is responsible for the maintenance, conservation and improvement of golf courses in Mexico. Its main interest is to promote and strengthen training processes, contributing to the care of the environment and thus achieving efficiency in the use of resources that are under our responsibility, seeking to create synergy between companies, organizations and institutions in this field.

Under the guidance of Architect Jack Lund and Marketing Manager Rodrigo Padilla, the associates arrived at 10:00 a.m. sharp to attend an introduction to the Bahia Principe Residences project and its merger with the best golf course in the Riviera Maya, with its 27 holes (18 championship level, par 72 and 9 par 3 holes) and the environment-friendly approach used, featuring all sustainable measures in the construction and care of the course.

Mention was made of the challenges encountered during the 2 years of its construction and the rescue of flora and fauna with the help of biologists to create this splendid course, a veritable sanctuary and a work of art.

On the technical side, engineer Victor Hernandez, superintendent of Riviera Maya Golf Club and an authority on sustainable maintenance and care of golf courses, stressed how much it means to Riviera Maya Golf Club to commit to not using chemicals on the green, working with living products ( bacteria strains), colonizing fungi that control soil pests and diseases, and doing cultural work that no one has dared to do. Examples include devising greens with solid rather than hollow spikes and the "zero use" of calcium sulfate, a chemical element that generates an impact on the water table.

A Q&A session followed, concluding with our permanent commitment to avoid any kind of environmental impact. Victor Hernandez thanked and bid farewell to our guests, who were fascinated and provided very good feedback about how they had learned a lot about Riviera Maya Golf Club, one of the best golf courses in Mexico.
