  • Mitchell Meissner is confirmed as the winner of the Totalplay Cup ranking with the “Totalplay Cup”, the American will have full rights in the next season of the Korn Ferry Tour.
     

Tulum, Quintana Roo, July 2022.- The Grand Final of the "Bupa Tour Championship" tournament was held at the PGA Riviera Maya Golf Course, located within the residential Tulum Country Club.

In a splendid setting and with a final round of 72 strokes, it allowed Argentine Jesús Montenegro to win the Bupa Tour Championship, closing the 2021-22 PGA TOUR Latinoamérica season.

With a cumulative 6-under par 282, the 25-year-old outlasted his compatriot Andrés Gallegos (72) and American Manav Shah (70) by two strokes. For his part, José de Jesús Rodríguez brought out all his experience and with a final round of 68 shots he managed to finish in a tie for fourth place.

American Samuel Anderson finished in the same position thanks to his second 68 of the week at the PGA Riviera Maya located in the Tulum Country Club. In sixth place, four strokes behind the new champion, were the Americans Andy Spencer (69) and Joseph Winslow (71), the Brazilian Rafael Becker (70) and the Venezuelan Manuel Torres (71). The top-10 was closed with individual globals of 1-under par 287, the American Michael Perras (70), the Argentine Alejandro Tosti (74) and the Canadian Myles Creighton (76).
After Camarón Rodríguez, the best Mexicans at the end of the week were Armando Favela (72), Raúl Pereda (73) and Rodolfo Cazaubón (74). These three players finished with 1-over-par 289 overall to move into a tie for 15th place.

The award ceremony was held at the 18th hole of the PGA Riviera Maya with the presence of authorities from Quintana Roo and special guests.

Fernando Padrón, PGA Riviera Maya golf director, was in charge of welcoming all the guests and authorities present to this final. He thanked PGA Tour LATAM, sponsors, players, volunteers and all the staff who did a great job in this very special event for the Destination, hosting this final for the second time in a row.

Jesús Montenegro received the trophy from the Secretary of Tourism of the State of Quintana Roo, Mr. Bernardo Cueto Riestra, who, on behalf of the Governor of the State of Quintana Roo, thanked all the sponsors and reiterated the great commitment that is made when making these international sporting events that are so important for Quintana Roo and for the country. Recognizing the work of all the organizers, sponsors and PGA Tour LATAM for betting on this venue. He congratulated the players, inviting everyone to support the sport and continue reaping success by working together for this destination.
